ABOUT

57 Beds

February 12-28, 2004

An unsettling and chaotic production. A collision of splintering characters – a meltdown of time and space.
The space opens up for the audience. Long rows of beds are set up in the large hall. 57 different characters interconnected by a car accident.
A net of human relationships, where alter-egos and stories exist side by side. A direct meeting between the audience and the 35 performers. A storming of the senses, where coincidence and confrontations create unique events every evening.
57 Beds is a large-scale performance installation by Signa Sørensen, whose previous works include the Twin Life project, Nika is Dead, and Night Finder. The boundary between the audience and the performers is eliminated, creating a labyrinth of unpredictable performances on the border between fiction and reality.
