After the huge succes with Berliner Luft 2 in Malmö / Signa Sørensens The Black Rose Trick – and over 11.000 visitors, Berliner Luft 2 continues in Kanonhallen which presents the hottest stage trends directly from Berlin in Copenhagen.

BERLINER LUFT 2 in KANONHALLEN
consists of highly realistic and non-aesthetic performances. They claim not to contain hidden meaning and focus on the relationship between performer, audience and space. These characteristics are examined continuously with the audience through discussion and debate with the artists.

All of the artists and groups that are presented under Berliner Luft 2 are now residing in Berlin and educated in Applied Theater Studies at Justus-Libig University Giessen, which is without comparison the most important and influential theater school in Germany.

Applied Theater Studies is not an actual method, but a way in which to approach stage art. The participating artists utilize humanistic theories and artistic strategies in direct interaction with reality, and the results are presented live on stage. Therefore, the performances often exist in the crossroads between art and research.

BERLINER LUFT 2 in KANONHALLEN has received funding from i.a. Kunststyrelsen, Goethe-Institut.
Curator: Henrik Vestergaard Pedersen.

Hottest stage trends from Berlin
OTMAR WAGNER   STUFF THE HOLES! YEAH – Orgy Europa Remix
APRIL 1 - 2, 2005
Otmar Wagner uses his performance lecture Vom Atomilz zum Fusspilz and remixes it into a hole new show STUFF THE HOLES! YEAH, which gives the audience a knowledge of his applied utopic and aspiration research.

In 2004 Otmar Wagner made a performance in Berliner Luft 1 as one half of the duo Wagner-Feigl-Forschung
ZARATHUSTRAS ONKEL   WE COME IN PEACE
APRIL 3 - 4, 2005
WE COME IN PEACE by Zarathustras Onkel is a re-adaptation of H.G. Wells’ and Orson Wells’ The War of the Worlds, and is a meeting between artists from Giessen, Berlin and the Scandinavian countries. In its form, the performance is closest to the performance-lectures that were presented under Berliner Luft 1. But WE COME IN PEACE is much more, in that lighting, dance, documentary film and dialogue are incorporated into the lecture.
ZARATHUSTRAS ONKEL was founded by Henrik Vestergaard Pedersen in 2001. # www.zonkel.com
THOMAS MARTIUS & ANDRZEJ WIRTH   LAS VENICE
APRIL 5 – 6, 2005
Andrezj Wirth and Thomas Martius have researched the original Venice and its copy: the Casino Hotel Venetian in Las Vegas. Now they present their difference in LAS VENICE - an essayistic video performance that asks the questions, “What is an original?”, “Who observes who?” and “Who performs, and who is audience?”
In 1982 Andrezj Wirth founded Applied Theater Studies, where Thomas Martius later studied.
SHE SHE POP    WARUM TANZT IHR NICHT?
APRIL 7 – 8, 2005
The Ballroom is a place full of promises, warm feelings and secret wishes. It houses failed plans, strategies and grand performances. The dance floor’s studs and disco queens take the spotlight with their chosen rolls. But fate is not controllable, as the dance floor is a mine field full of embarrassment and hope.
In SHE SHE POPs performance WARUM TANZT IHR NICHT?, the audience can dance with the performers or with each other, and they are posed a series of questions about themselves and each other, and are “voluntarily forced” to test their own and others’ boundaries.
SHE SHE POP was founded by six women from Applied Theater Studies in 1993.
